Welcome
to the
Pitcairn
Heritage Society
Our aims will be:
- To
extend the knowledge of our family history and make it available
to members.
- To
promote the conservation of documents, monuments and other material
of special significance to the Pitcairn Family.
- To
help members find their genealogical links between Pitcairns
world-wide, and aid them in updating their family trees.
- To
publish a Newsletter 3 times a year; in which members will be
able to exchange ideas and information.
- To
put members in touch with one another.
- To
act as a focal point for communication between members about:
- common
ancestry & family history
- business
networking relationships
- common
professional interests
- hobbies
or other activities which they might share
ClanPitcairn will be there - will you?
We have applied to purchase 60 Silver Passports (£95 ea.) The Pitcairn Financial Group of Philadelphia has generously offered to underwrite this initial, rather substantial investment, so our sincere thanks to the PFG! We will also have a Pitcairn tent at The Gathering.

A Passport provides:
*
Entry to both days of the Highland Games in Holyrood Park
*
A place in the clan parade up the Royal Mile
*
A seat at the Clan Pageant at the castle esplanade.
Now all we need is YOU!
We are still formulating the Schedule of Events. Please click on the Events button to the left for additional details.
We still have some Passports available so if you're thinking of attending you should act now!
A block of rooms at The Westerwood have been reserved for Pitcairn2009. Click Here for more information on room rates, deposits, etc.
Please send an email to Colin if you're in North America, or John if you're not to reserve your Passport today. We will require payment in full by the end of March 2008.
If you have questions please do not hesitate to email or call Colin or John - stay tuned - we'll be posting new information as soon as we get it! See you in Edinburgh 2009!
The
Newsletter
2006 cannot come to a close without sincerly thanking Richard
Pitcairn-Knowles for his dedication to seeing
that the Newsletter go out 3 times per year. As Editor,
he has spent countless hours communicating with Pitcairns
the world over in the never-ending pursuit of content
worthy of your subscription. Proceeds go directly to
the Pitcairn Heritage Society to help support it's goals
listed above.
Colin has not been quite so dedicated
but I had a long talk
with
him
and
I think he'll do much better in 2007. He wanted me to
tell you that if you would like to receive the Newsletter
via email just let him know: colin@clanpitcairn.com and
it will be on it's way.
If you haven't seen the May 2006 issue, click Newsletter. Pardon
the lack of formatting for the time being - it's being
worked on...
Don't be shy - send your news, stories, announcements
and article ideas to: Richard
Pitcairn-Knowles
One of these days we're hoping to have past Newsletters
archived here on the site. One more thing to bring to
Colin's attention!

a Look they're really beautiful - made in Scotland! Ken
Dalgliesh was at the Saturday August 7th Pitcairn Heritage
Society meeting to display & sell items made in the Pitcairn
tartan. For information on ordering a kilt or tartan merchandise, click
here. Remember, Ken donates 10% of all Pitcairn
tartan sales to the PHS, so don't delay!

you'd like to order a fleece, hat, or golf shirt from Pitcairn2004,
we still have a few left - contact Colin or John Pitcairn for
more information.
To Kate

a huge success!
The
Pitcairn Family Tree is on the web! Lloyd
Pitcairn is in the process of publishing much of the work of his mother, Sheila Pitcairn, at www.pitcairnfamily.com. Our thanks to Sheila, Lloyd, and Wendy for all the time and effort they've invested (40+ years). Their presentation on the site at Pitcairn 2004 was tremendous and we now know what we have to do - we need to help them fill in the details. Please send them your known tree with birthdates, weddings, deaths so that we can continue what they've started. Take a look at your particular branch and send in as much confirmed data as possible. A Word document would be fine.
Please note: the site is still under construction so not all the trees are complete.
Re-visit
the great time we had at the
Pitcairn2000 photos page!
Visit the Art Gallery of Deana
Pitcairn Duncan of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania!
Visit the Art Gallery of Bruce
Pitcairn of Seattle, Washington!
Here's an interesting item I found on Dr.
Archibald Pitcairn.
And if you're in Seattle, don't forget to visit Scott
Pitcairn's gallery, PitcairnScott!
